James is a trade qualified Senior Motor Mechanic who, after 6 years in the trade, returned to university where he completed a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. On completion of these studies he gained employment as an engineer in the automotive industry. During this time he worked in many sectors including OE car manufacturing, OE tier one suppliers and the aftermarket. This period included exposure to damper design and manufacture. Following a 5 year stint as the Chief Engineer in a company specialising in the manufacture of high technology post harvest fruit handling equipment, James began his professional motor racing career with Brad Jones Racing in the V8 Supercar Championship in 2001 From then until now James has worked exclusively in the motor sport industry.
